Thirty-eight T-Birds named to Academic Big Sky Team

Thirty-eight Southern Utah University athletes have been named to the Fall 2012 Academic All-Big Sky teams. SUU has 10 representatives on the all-academic football team, eight on the women’s cross country squad, seven each representing soccer and volleyball, and six on the men’s cross country team.
Earning recognition from football are seniors Dylan Fox, Cody Larsen, Russell Petersen and K.C, Rawlinson; juniors Colton Cook and Brad Meyer; sophomores Mitch Jessop, Kouri Jones and Easton Pedersen; and redshirt freshman James Cowser.
Women’s cross country is represented by seniors Sylvia Bedford, Kirsten Bradford, Lizzy Butler, Kaylee Coates and Dayna VanArsdol; as well as by juniors Whitney Curtis, Danielle Jewkes and Shelli Mogensen.
Soccer seniors Charly Booth, Morgan Bridge and Amanda Huymphreys are joined on the squad by juniors Kristy Hendrickson and Megan Mower as well as by sophomores Kirsten Anthony and Megan Palmer.
Representing volleyball are seniors Analaine Mailoto and Cashaana Renfro; juniors Hailey Moore, Kylie Schofield and Alissa Youart; and sophomores Gabi Mirand and Annie Stradling.
Men’s cross country has juniors Devan Antczak, Ryan Barrus, John Hart, Nate Jewkes and Jonathan Lee on the squad, as well as redshirt freshman Josh Gardner on the team.
To be eligible for the team student-athletes must have 1) Participated in at least half of the teams’ competitions; 2) achieved a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; and 3) completed at least one academic year at his or her Big Sky institution.
