Entrepreneurial Tips at Business Speaker Series

The School of Business will continue its popular Wells Fargo Speaker Series this semester, opening with “Warren Buffett Never Sat on His Tuffet” by successful entrepreneur Jeff Kahn.

Kahn, business development officer for the Bank of Utah and owner of RJR Investment Services, will discuss how to use good judgment and be proactive when making career and business choices and how to use those principles to have personal and professional success.

The presentation will be Thursday, January 16 at 11:30 a.m. in the Starlight Room located within the Sharwan Smith Student Center. As will all presentations within the Wells Fargo Speaker Series, this forum is free and open to the public.

This opportunity to learn from a highly successful businessman is a unique opportunity for SUU students and Cedar City community members. Wells Fargo Speaker Series administrators implore that this chance to hear from Kahn and others is an occasion for all to gain insights into the business world and to explore career and internship opportunities.

Kahn is an entrepreneur and has more than 25 years of trust and investment experience. His career includes a vast array of experience with banks across the country, including being the vice president of Southwest Trust Company and prior managing and developing marketing for the Zions Bank Personal Trust sales force. Kahn was also a vice president and manager for First Security Bank.

His resume holds more than professional experience, Kahn also boasts a bachelor’s of arts and master’s of arts from Brigham Young University, as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Utah. He has taught foreign languages and literature at BYU, Penn State University, Angelo State University, and the U of U. Kahn currently is an active member of SUU’s School of Business National Advisory Board.

Savannah Cannon, administrator with the Wells Fargo Speaker Series, said of Kahn’s involvement with SUU, “Jeff Kahn is not only a successful businessman with experience to share with our students, he is also personally invested in this University. He is dedicated to helping the SUU students succeed in their professional endeavors.”

Other speakers that will join the Wells Fargo Speaker’s roster this semester will be representatives from Café Zupas, DA Davidson and Xi3 Corporation.
