In just one year, SUU students and employees completed more than 150,000 hours of community service. From local youth mentoring to alternative breaks that took our T-Birds to help strangers in foreign countries, our campus community is clearly committed to being a force for good not just in Cedar City, but in every community they can.
The SUU Community Engagement Center (CEC) is inviting all students, staff, faculty and community members to its annual Thank You and Recognition Event on Wednesday, April 9, at 3 p.m. in the Sharwan Smith Center Starlight Room. There, the CEC will honor engaged faculty, staff and students, as well as committed community partners and engaged alumni. The event will last until 5 p.m., with a short program beginning at 4 p.m. that will focus on the year's service highlights. Light refreshments will be served.
The Community Engagement Center aims to promote service and engagement with local, regional, national and global communities. It is one of the University's five campus engagement centers, designed to give every student real-world experiences within their studies.
