Continuing Southern Utah University’s prominence as an experiential education institution and utilizing it’s location near a plethora of state and national parks, the Intergovernmental Internship Cooperative (IIC) is hosting its annual Public Lands Employment Day on Wednesday, January 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Living Room, located within the Sharwan Smith Student Center.

This event is an opportunity for prospective employers and current students to meet and discuss opportunities that are available in the highly competitive public land management field, giving students a rare opportunity to work their desired field and gain the necessary experience.

The IIC includes the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Utah Department of Natural Resources and various Native American tribes throughout the region. This event has successfully helped hundreds students in the past to obtain career-benefiting internships, especially considering the event is held during the peak hiring season for most of the groups involved.
