Great Shakeout Drill to Prepare SUU for Potential Earthquake

On Thursday, April 21, at 10:05 a.m., Southern Utah University will be participating in the Great Utah Shakeout Earthquake Drill.
The Campus Police and Risk Management Committee hope to instill the importance of being prepared for a potential earthquake here in Cedar City.
They strongly encourage all of campus to drop, cover, and hold on for one minute at 10:05 AM.
They also hope that faculty, staff, and students will begin to further prepare themselves for an earthquake by doing the following, securing their office space, organizing disaster supplies, and knowing their department’s emergency protocol.
The Campus Police and Risk Management Committee want to ensure everyone’s safety in the event of an actual earthquake and hope that everyone will participate in this event. For more information on earthquake preparedness please visit: www.shakeout.org/utah.
