Filmmaker and Happiness Guru Roko Belic to Speak at SUU Convocations

Roko BelicSUU Convocations and the SUU T-Fit program is proud to present filmmaker and happiness guru Roko Belic.  Roko Belic is the director of the new film Happy and the Academy-Award nominated Genghis Blues. SUU will be doing a special screening of the Roko’s Happy film during the celebration of the International Day of Happiness, at 6 pm in the Sterling Church Auditorium on SUU’s campus. The Convocation lecture where Roko will speak about the making of his film and the pursuit of happiness will be held in the Great Hall at 11:30 am, on Thursday, March 30.

Roko Belic is a diverse and talented documentary film maker. His films have won multiple awards in film festivals, such as “Best Documentary” in the Rincon and Mexico International Film Festivals, “Audience Choice” inn the Mendocino Film Festival, and “Student Choice” in the Tellurce Mountianfilm Film Festival. Belic has traveled across the U.S. giving lectures and having discussions advocating for all people to experience happiness and how to find the “root of your happiness.”

Belic’s film Happy took the travel across 14 countries and the duration of 6 years. The travel took Belic and his team to places where the people are completely connected to technological universe or they are in places with no monetary system. He learned about the happiness brought to people by unity, love, and identity. The film gives its viewers the enlightenment that Belic has discovered through his work with the scientific community and cultures blossoming with joy.  

Belic’s film, Happy, will be shown in the Sterling Church Auditorium on March 29 at 6 pm. The film will be shown to go with T-Fit’s celebrations of the International Day of Happiness, and will talk about the film and his travels on March 30, 11:30 am in the Great Hall. The community and SUU students can find the events of the week through SUU’s social media and event calendars. Those involved or attending the events should use the hashtag, #suudaysofhappiness to help spread the happy energy!
