director user experience google elizabeth churchillThursday, March 1, 2018 – The A.P.E.X. Event Series is proud to present the Director of User Experience at Google, Dr. Elizabeth Churchill. Dr. Churchill’s presentation is titled, “Human Computer Interaction – Charting the Past, Understanding the Present, Predicting the Future.” Dr. Churchill is our second Eccles Visiting Scholar for the 2017-2018 season, and her visit is made possible by the generous support of The George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation. The presentation will begin at 11:30 A.M. in The Great Hall on SUU’s Campus. This event is free and open to the public.

As a speaker Dr. Churchill has presented in China, Canada, University of California at Berkeley, New Zealand on topics including website design, emotion and “Internet in Everyday Life.” Dr. Churchill has been on the forefront of research into the understanding of how and why people will either engage or disengage with websites and branding concepts. In her past position as Director of Human Computer Interaction at eBay she also was key in researching the public’s shopping and recycling practices. Dr. Churchill has a BS in Experimental Psychology, and MS in Knowledge Based Systems from the University of Sussex, and a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Cambridge.
