A.P.E.X. Event Series: Bertice Berry

festival of excellence keynote speakerTuesday, April 3, the A.P.E.X. Event Series presents the keynote speaker for SUU’s 2018 Festival of Excellence. Dr. Bertice Berry. The presentation will be hosted in the Great Hall in the Hunter Conference Center at 11:30 A.M. This event is free and open to the public. A reception in the lobby with refreshments and a book signing will follow the presentation.

Dr. Berry’s mission is to “inspire change and transformation through life-long learning, diversity, values, and excellence,” and is articulated in her vision statement which says “when you walk with purpose, you collide with destiny.” Since earning her Ph.D. at the age of 26 from Kent State University, Dr. Berry has continually defied stereotypes, generalizations, and clichés. She has forged an example of defining your life through accomplishment as an inspirational author, teacher, and educator. She has spoken at such universities as Capella University, University of Phoenix, Towson University, Bentley University, and many more!

Dr. Berry has become a best-selling author for her memoir, I’m on My Way, but Your Foot is on My Head, and other books such as Straight from the Ghetto, and Redemption Song. Dr. Berry was the host of her own nationally syndicated talk show, “The Bertice Berry Show,” and hosted “USA Live.” She has also made several television appearances on shows like “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” ABC’s “20/20” and NPR’s “Tell Me More” with Michel Martin.
