Southern Utah Soccer and head coach Fred Thompson are proud to welcome Kali Harmon to the staff in the position of assistant coach ahead of the 2018 season.
“I’m very excited about our staff,” Thompson said. “Jonas has been great and Kali is absolutely fantastic with the goalkeepers. We are going to get a lot of work done and we are going to get a lot out of our team.”
Harmon will be coming to Cedar City from Mesa, Arizona where she served as the Director of Goalkeeping for AZ Arsenal Soccer Club and the head goalkeeping coach for both the men’s and women’s programs at Mesa Community College. She also served as the goalkeeping coach for the women’s team at Benedictine University at Mesa during the 2017 season, leading the goalkeepers to a 1.23 goals against average and six shutouts.
Before starting her coaching career, Harmon attended Northern Arizona University where she was the captain of NAU’s club team, leading the team to two national tournament appearances. Harmon graduated from NAU in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Sports Psychology & Chemistry.
Harmon was a four-year starter for Gilbert High School varsity soccer team and still holds the record for shutouts in a season (15) and goals against average (0.57).
Harmon holds a USC Advanced National and Level 1-3 Goalkeeping Diplomas, a USSF E License, and a USC Inclusivity & Diversity Certificate.
