A.P.E.X. Events: Paul Zak at 2019 Festival of Excellence

A.P.E.X. Events – SUU’s Premier Event Series – will present the keynote speaker for Southern Utah University’s 2019 Festival of Excellence, Paul Zak on Tuesday, April 2nd at 11:30 AM in The Great Hall of The Hunter Conference Center. His book, Trust Factor: The Science of Creating High Performance Companies will be available for purchase and signing after the event.

Zak’s two decades of research have taken him from the Pentagon to Fortune 50 boardrooms to the rain forest of Papua New Guinea. All this in a quest to understand the neuroscience of human connection, human happiness, and effective teamwork. His latest book, Trust Factor: The Science of Creating High Performance Companies, uses neuroscience to measure and manage organizational cultures to inspire teamwork and accelerate business outcomes.
Paul is the founding Director of the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies and Professor of Economics, Psychology and Management at Claremont Graduate University. He has degrees in mathematics and economics from San Diego State University, a Ph.D. in economics from University of Pennsylvania, and post-doctoral training in neuroimaging from Harvard. He also serves as a senior advisor to Finsbury, a global leader in strategic communications that advises many of the world’s most successful companies, and his research on oxytocin and relationships has earned him the nickname "Dr. Love."
The annual Festival of Excellence celebrates scholarly and creative work conducted by SUU's faculty, students, and staff. This year’s presentations interrogate a vast array of different topics and offer a truly interdisciplinary look into the excellent work accomplished at Southern Utah University. It includes presentations, performances, panel discussions, and poster presentations on topics as diverse as community engagement, leadership and entrepreneurship, physical and mental wellbeing, and creative expression and analysis.
