Celebrate International Education Week with SUU's International Affairs Office

international students on a hikeJoin Southern Utah University’s International Affairs Office as they celebrate International Education Week November 18-22. A joint initiative from the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week showcases the benefits of cultural and academic exchange between programs around the world and American universities. 

During the week, there will be opportunities to participate in several multicultural activities on SUU’s campus. Here’s what the International Affairs Office has planned for this year’s International Education Week:

Monday, November 18
What: Karaoke Night
Where: Sharwan Smith Student Center Living Room
When: 6-8 p.m.
Tuesday, November 19
What: African Union Club Showcase
Where: Sharwan Smith Student Center Living Room
When: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Wednesday, November 20
What: Mini Golf
Where: Sharwan Smith Student Center
When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
 
Thursday, November 21
What: Carnival
Where: Sharwan Smith Student Center Ballroom
When: 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
 
Friday, November 22
What: Days for Girls Service Project
Where: International Affairs Office, Sharwan Smith Student Center
When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

SUU students, complete an International Education Week passport for a chance to win a Nintendo Switch, GoPro HERO 8, or a HiBoy Electric Scooter. To enter, attend at least 4 events and receive a passport stamp. Submit passport to the International Affairs Office (ST 169) by Friday, November 22 at 2 p.m. for a chance to win. A drawing will be held in the Living Room shortly after 2 p.m.

With students as its highest priority, the SUU’s International Affairs Office fosters globally engaged communities by supporting the exchange of values, cultures, and ideas in an effort to advance a more just, empathic, and prosperous world.
