With the rollout of new online degrees, Southern Utah University’s Family Life and Human Development program has added a new Family Studies emphasis to their online program. Family Studies includes topics related to family processes, relationships, and human development.
The Family Studies emphasis is a great option for individuals who are returning to school to finish their degree. The FLHD job options are widely varied across the human services industry spectrum. There is something for everyone in FLHD.
“The department of Family Life and Human Development is excited to launch the new online degree with an emphasis in Family Studies,” said Dr. Rea Gubler, FLHD department chair. “We anticipate serving students seeking degrees designed to strengthen families in many career paths. The degree is flexible enough to help students finish a baccalaureate degree that was started earlier but not completed due to various circumstances.”
The Family Studies emphasis requires 30 additional credits and there are a variety of courses to choose from to fulfill this requirement. Students can select courses that interest them and apply to their career.
The Bachelor of Family Life and Human Development program is approved by the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) enabling students to achieve Family Life Education (CFLE) certification. This 120-credit program can be finished completely online over 8 semesters. Learn more about the FLHD program.
