ARCHIVE: On November 18, 2020, a campus-wide email was sent to Southern Utah University's students and employees explaining the new on-campus COVID-19 testing:
Dear Students,
We are pleased to announce that weekly testing for COVID-19 will be available on campus beginning on Thursday, November 19 from 8 am - 5 pm. The free, non-invasive tests will be given to students on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Testing for students with NO COVID symptoms will be available in the Student Center Ballroom by appointment, please book your appointment for a rapid COVID test from the website. Make sure you bring your Student ID and T-Number. Results will be emailed to you after 5 p.m. on the day of your test.
If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, DO NOT come to the Ballroom. Symptomatic testing is available at the Alumni House by appointment.
Nouman Kante, your student body president, and I stepped up to be the first ones tested on campus. We can report that it was painless and took only a couple minutes. It’s a self-administered test with some assistance from SUU volunteers. We are grateful for all those who are helping with this process.
Thank you for helping keep SUU safe.
Scott
