The following email was sent to all faculty, staff and students at Southern Utah University on March 24, 2021.

Dear Campus Community,

Starting today, March 24, all Utahns 16 years and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. All faculty, staff, and students that would like to receive the vaccination should work directly with the Southwest Utah Public Health Department and other local locations providing vaccines.

Vaccines are distributed on a first come first serve basis and shipments of the vaccine are limited. Demand is high and it may take several weeks to schedule and vaccinate those currently eligible. For clinic hours and scheduling updates contact the Southwest Utah Public Health Department or join the text notification system by texting “SWUHEALTH” to 888777.

Please note that the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are only authorized for people age 18 or older. The Pfizer vaccine is authorized for people age 16 and older. To find a location with the appropriate vaccine, visit vaccinefinder.org.

More information about vaccine distribution in Utah can be found at coronavirus.utah.gov/vaccine-distribution.

Thank you for your continued support.
