SUU's A.P.E.X. Events announces Fall 2021 LineupSouthern Utah University’s A.P.E.X. Events is excited to offer a fall season celebrating education and achievement. Lecture events are held each Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the Gilbert Great Hall of the Hunter Alumni Center.

A.P.E.X. Events is SUU’s premier weekly lecture series, with speakers and presenters invited from all areas of the world. Attendees to events are students, faculty, staff and community members, and the series features a diverse range of topics and disciplines.

A.P.E.X. Fall 2021 Events

H.E. Madam Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi

September 16 at 11:30 a.m.

In collaboration with the SUU Office of International Affairs, SUU is honored to host the First Lady of the Democratic Republic of the Congo as our special guest to begin the 2021 season.

Alumni Spotlight: Derral Eves

September 23 at 11:30 a.m.

SUU's Outstanding Alumnus and YouTube influencer Derral Eves joins A.P.E.X. Events to share his knowledge, experience, and contagious passion with creators and entrepreneurs in any market.

HawkWatch International, Raptors & Our Land

September 30 at 11:30 a.m.

HawkWatch International conserves our environment through education, long-term monitoring, and scientific research on raptors as indicators of ecosystem health. This event will feature live animals.

Grace A. Tanner Lecture: Dr. Nalini Nadkarni

October 7 at 11:30 a.m.

A lifelong interest in trees led Nalini to study and understand canopies, and to innovate public engagement of science activities and programs.

Matt Bell, Author of Appleseed

October 14 at 11:30 a.m.

Author of several novels, including Appleseed, Matt Bell is the rare sort of writer whose work the reader would recognize even if it were published anonymously. 

Live Court Session with the Utah Court of Appeals

October 21 at 11:30 a.m.

A.P.E.X. Events is proud to once again host the Utah Court of Appeals to hear two cases live on campus. Extra security will be required for this event.

Pete Jacobson & Keenan Webster | Talking Strings

October 28 at 11:30 a.m.

The Grammy-nominated cellist and artist of the 12 string African kora, Pete Jacobson and Keenan Webster, join together to bridge worlds in music.

SUU Live Science in Action

November 4 at 11:30 a.m.

Join A.P.E.X. for live science on stage. Experiments, animals, and all kinds of magic performed by SUU faculty and students.

Breaking Bad Chemistry with Dr. Donna Nelson

November 11 at 11:30 a.m.

The American chemist and science advisor to the AMC television show Breaking Bad, Dr. Donna Nelson innovates science learning by considering its communities.

Leavitt Center Collaboration

November 18 at 11:30 a.m.

A.P.E.X. Event's annual collaboration with SUU's Micheal O. Leavitt Center for Politics and Public Service when we have a guest in to talk about current political topics and trends.
