Students at SUU's Local Job FairSouthern Utah University’s Career and Professional Development Center invites all employers to attend the upcoming Local Job Fair on September 6, 2023. The event will take place in the Sharwan Smith Student Center Ballroom from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“This is the perfect opportunity to recruit SUU students since they are just getting back on campus after a long summer break, and they are actively looking for jobs,” said Jerry Ross, assistant director of employer relations for the Career Center. “We invite all employers looking to fill open positions in the local Cedar City area, or remote jobs, to the Local Job Fair.”

SUU is a resource to help industries fill open positions with quality applicants. With 150 undergraduate programs and 32 graduate programs and certifications, as well as a professional doctorate degree, SUU has students pursuing degrees in just about every industry.

The Career Center is actively preparing students to be effective and desirable employees. With an emphasis on skills like critical thinking, oral/written communication, professionalism, work ethic, competency in digital technology, and many others, students are provided with the resources they need to be valuable employees and contribute to whatever business or organization they are a part of in a meaningful way.

Local employers in Cedar City are encouraged to seize this extraordinary opportunity to tap into this exceptional talent pool. By opening their doors to these outstanding students, businesses can not only enhance their own growth and success but also contribute to the flourishing ecosystem of our community.

For those interested in recruiting SUU students, registration is open on Handshake, an online recruiting platform for higher education students and alumni, and closes on August 23, 2023, at 5 p.m. There is an employer registration fee of $50 for a standard booth, which includes lunch for two recruiters. The event is free to SUU students and alumni.

SUU’s Career and Professional Development Center strives to provide students opportunities to enhance their careers, increase their networking abilities, and give them the financial resources they need to succeed in college.
