The Cedar City Business and Innovation Center, in partnership with SUU Startup and the Larry H. and Gail Miller Center for Entrepreneurship, successfully hosted the first-ever Demo Day event on Saturday, August 12 at the Cedar City Business & Innovation Center.
Demo Day provided a unique platform for local small businesses and startups to showcase their innovations, gain exposure and connect with other entrepreneurs in the community. Due to a generous grant, a total of $3,000 in awards were distributed among the participating businesses.
Attendees actively participated in supporting their favorite presenters by receiving tokens upon arrival. These tokens were then allocated to the businesses of their choice, effectively converting them into sponsorship money. This innovative approach engaged the community and empowered them to contribute directly to the success of local entrepreneurs.
"We were thrilled to provide a platform for our local businesses to shine and connect with the community," said Criag Isom, director, accelerating innovators at SUU Startup. "The financial support from the grant undoubtedly made a meaningful impact on these startups, and we were excited to see the innovation that emerged from this collaboration."
The Demo Day event was free, open to everyone and designed to be family-friendly. Attendees enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere filled with free food, live music and ample opportunities to explore and support the incredible talent flourishing in Cedar City.
The Demo Day event was a resounding success, celebrating innovation, community, and the entrepreneurial spirit in Cedar City. We extend our gratitude to all who contributed to making this event a memorable showcase of local talent and ingenuity.
The Demo Day event was a collaborative effort presented by SUU's Larry H. & Gail Miller Center for Entrepreneurship, SUU Startup and The Cedar City Business & Innovation Center.
