CEDAR CITY, Utah - July 16, 2024
The Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History at Southern Utah University is excited to announce the opening of its latest interactive exhibit, "Pollinators!" on July 16.

Open to the public, this new exhibit offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating world of pollination across various species and habitats. Featuring an array of pollinators including birds, bees, and butterflies, as well as several unexpected pollinators, the exhibit showcases their vital role in different ecosystems, and highlights their specific skills that set their pollination patterns apart.

"We're thrilled to present this interactive experience that highlights the crucial role pollinators play in our world," said William Heyborne, Dean of the College of Natural Sciences at SUU. "Visitors will gain a deeper understanding of these remarkable creatures and their impact on our environment."

Specific features of the "Pollinators!" exhibit include:

  • Displays and graphics showcasing various pollinator species (both known and unexpected), as well as acquired specimens
  • Hands-on activities for patrons of all ages
  • Educational content on the importance of pollination in ecosystems
