Ornate Grand Room of Winchester UniversitySouthern Utah University is excited to announce a new study abroad partnership with the University of Winchester in Hampshire, England. This program offers students from both institutions enriching educational experiences in diverse cultural settings. SUU students will be able to immerse themselves in the historic and picturesque city of Winchester while earning credits toward their degrees.

The exchange partnership allows for SUU students to study for one or two semesters at the University of Winchester, and for UW students to do a semester or two of study at SUU. Exchange students pay tuition only to their home institution, and regular financial aid and scholarships can be used, so it’s very affordable.

“Winchester is a quintessentially English town, only one hour by train to London. The university offers many of the same majors that SUU does, and they have experienced, caring international student support staff who help students select classes, secure housing, and adjust to life in a new country. I foresee that the University of Winchester will quickly become a popular study abroad destination for SUU students,” said Dr. Kurt Harris, SUU Director of Learning Abroad.

“This Study Abroad partnership is a great opportunity for Criminology, Business, English, and Media students but there are opportunities for many other programs as well,” said Head of International Student Success at the University of Winchester, Amy Simcock. “Studying abroad not only helps to broaden your horizons but it's fantastic for boosting a student’s resume and employability skills.”

SUU students can begin studying at the University of Winchester in Spring 2025, with the application deadline for the spring exchange set for September 15, 2024. Interested students should visit the Semester Exchange webpage to start the application process. Minimum requirements include a GPA of at least 3.0 and the completion of one year of university study before the exchange semester.

Many courses of study at the University of Winchester are open to SUU students, including Business, Education, Family Life, Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Health Sciences, and Performing Arts.
