SUU Announces Homecoming Week Activities

Thursday, Oct. 10

The first athletic event of the week will kick off on Thursday, Oct. 10 with SUU Volleyball vs. California Baptist University at 7 p.m. in the America First Event center.

The Alumni Homecoming Banquet will be hosted that same evening in the Gilbert Great Hall located in the R. Haze Hunter Alumni Center. The Alumni Association is proud to honor the following as Alumni Honorees at this year’s banquet: Stacee McIff, Outstanding Alumnus; Paula Mitchell, Distinguished Services; and Cameron Levins, Young Alumnus.

Friday, Oct. 11

Red Friday (Oct. 11) promises to be a day packed full of Thunderbird spirit with all T-Birds expected to showcase school spirit by donning their red apparel.

Kick off the afternoon at 4 p.m., by watching the SUU Women’s Soccer Team take on GCU.

That night, Forever Red will take place on the Upper Quad at 7:30 p.m. The entire Cedar City and Campus Community is invited to enjoy live music featuring ABBA Mania and Rhinestone Rodeo, as well as food trucks, inflatables, and SUU’s first-ever drone show for a full night of celebration!

Saturday, Oct. 12

Saturday at 9 a.m., SUU Emeriti along with the Alumni & Student Alumni Association will host a complimentary Homecoming Pancake Breakfast in the Hunter Alumni Center parking lot. Following the pancake breakfast, the Homecoming Parade will start at 10 a.m. along University Boulevard.

Come cheer on SUU Football that same day as we host Eastern Kentucky University at 2 p.m in Eccles Coliseum. (To ensure public safety and make stadium access more efficient for all guests, Southern Utah University is adopting a clear bag policy at ticketed sporting events. This policy aligns with industry-recognized best practices and reflects our ongoing commitment to providing a secure, streamlined, and welcoming environment. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to ensure smooth entry.)

The final Homecoming week event will be watching SUU Volleyball take on Grand Canyon University at 7 p.m. in the America First Event Center.
