Kids playing basketballThe Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games (LHM USG), an outreach department of Southern Utah University, has announced its tentative
calendar for the 2025 event season.

The calendar, which is available at UtahSummerGames.org, includes the addition of new sports such as 7-on-7 football, girls’ high school flag football and youth flag
football. The organization will also co-sanction a figure skating event in the Salt Lake
area in February.

Other notable events on the calendar include the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games
Opening Ceremony, presented by State Bank of Southern Utah, and the
KSL 5 TV Block Party, with both events taking place on June 6.

Registration will open Dec. 1, 2024 for all events. The department has partnered with RaceReach, a leading event registration software company, to manage registrations for all LHM USG events. RaceReach is the official registration platform of the ‘National Congress of State Games’, of which LHM USG is a member.

“We are so excited for the release of our 2025 calendar,” said Jon Oglesby, Executive
Director of the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games. “This year’s event calendar
features a variety of events that we are excited about adding, such as robust offerings in
football and figure skating. Additionally, we’re pleased to continue building sports
we’ve added in recent years, such as mountain biking, cheer; dance, and high
school boys’ volleyball.”

LHM USG programming will open the first event of the season on February 22 with a co-sanctioned figure skating event at the Olympic Oval in Kearns, with the organization’s ever-growing wrestling event to take place at Canyon View High School on March 21-22.

The dates for 7-on-7 football will be June 9-10, with the girls’ high school flag football and youth flag football scheduled for June 16-17.

The growth has also necessitated moving some events: youth basketball will move to a weekend date, June 29-30, boys’ high school volleyball will move to June 6-7, and other indoor volleyball events will take place June 18-21. Additionally, the department plans to add outdoor volleyball at a date to be determined.
