Registration is now open for the 2025 Program Year of the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games (LHM USG). Interested parties can register at utahsummergames.org.
The 2025 calendar features a variety of new events and date changes for long-standing events, including a celebration of 40 years of LHM USG competition. It includes the addition of new sports such as 7-on-7 Football, Girls' High School Flag Football and Youth Flag Football. New sports from 2023, such as Boys’ High School Volleyball, Cheer, Competitive Dance, and Mountain Biking will also return to the lineup.
“We are thrilled to open registration for the 2025 Program Year,” said Jon Oglesby, Executive Director of the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games. “2025 will be the 40th consecutive year of Utah Summer Games competition, and we are excited to pay homage throughout the games to our proud past. In addition, we are thrilled for our promising future and the new events we are offering with the support of world-class partners."
The organization will also co-sanction a Figure Skating event in the Salt Lake area in February. Additionally, LHM USG will host a Unified Basketball bracket for the first time within its High School Basketball events on May 30-31, partnering with both Special Olympics Utah and Show Up Utah on the event.
Other notable events on the calendar include the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games Opening Ceremony, Presented by State Bank of Southern Utah, on Friday, June 6. The KSL 5 TV Block Party will also take place on June 6. The State Bank of Southern Utah 5K/10K and Pancake Breakfast will take place on Saturday, June 7, starting up Cedar Canyon and running down SR-14 to the SUU campus. The pancake breakfast is free and open to the general public.
LHM USG programming will open on February 22 with a co-sanctioned Figure Skating event at the Olympic Oval in Kearns, in partnership with Utah Figure Skating. The ever-growing LHM USG Wrestling event will take place at Canyon View High School on March 21-22. The dates for 7-on-7 Football will be June 9-10, with the Girls' High School Flag Football and Youth Flag Football tournaments scheduled for June 16-17.
The department has partnered with RaceReach, a leading event registration software company, to manage registrations for LHM USG events. RaceReach is the official registration platform of the National Congress of State Games, of which LHM USG is a member.
The growth in USG programming has also necessitated moving events around to facilitate additional growth. Youth Basketball will move to a weekend date, scheduled for June 29-30. Boys' High School Volleyball will move to June 6-7, while other Indoor Volleyball events will take place June 18-21.
