The design team of The Kolob Canyon Review (KCR) has been awarded the prestigious Bronze recognition in the 18th International Design Awards (IDA) 2024 for their exceptional work on the Spring 2024 issue: Volume 32. The IDA recognizes, celebrates, and promotes outstanding design visionaries across Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic, and Fashion Design worldwide, making this achievement a remarkable honor.
What makes this recognition even more significant is that The Kolob Canyon Review’s submission was entered in the professional division rather than the student category. This means that the team’s design was judged against works from industry professionals, proving their talent and creative excellence on a global stage.
This isn't the first time this edition of The Kolob Canyon Review has been recognized—last summer, they also received the Applied Arts Design Award from Applied Arts Magazine and a 2024 University & College Design Association (UCDA) Awards Silver designation. Securing a Bronze award in such a competitive field highlights the innovative vision and technical skill behind The Kolob Canyon Review’s Volume 32, further cementing its place in the design and literary community.
“There were submissions from all around the world, including 80 countries, and our team's work was selected out of all of those professional entries,” said Brock Landrum, the faculty advisor for KCR's design team.
“We are incredibly proud of the KCR design team for receiving this distinguished recognition,” said Jeffrey Hanson, chair of the Department of Filmmaking, Art, & Design. “This award is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and dedication our students put into every issue of The Kolob Canyon Review. Competing and succeeding in the professional category is a significant achievement, and we are thrilled to see their efforts acknowledged on a global scale.”
