"The Ancient Beginning of the New World" silk art quilt by VAYLA
Pathfinders: New Territories is defined as any person, group, or idea that is visionary in nature and blazes new ground. Pathfinders invent myriad life-saving and life-enhancing amenities all over the world. They discover new truths that add to humanity’s understanding of our built and natural world. Pathfinders are found in every age group, throughout history, and in every country. The common denominator of pathfinders may be their curiosity, courage, wanderlust, sense of adventure, willingness to take risks, and the unwillingness to live life as it has always been lived without asking “What If?” and “Why Not?”
There were 61 artists from 24 states that submitted a total of 122 works for Pathfinders: New Territories. Of these submissions, 31 artists and 33 pieces (two pieces were accepted from two artists) were accepted. There are 16 states represented in this art quilt show, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Washington and Washington DC.
