All poster presentations will be in the Great Hall of the R. Haze Hunter Alumni Center.

Oral presentations will be in the following rooms of the R. Haze Hunter Alumni Center: Charles Hunter, Shooting Star, Yankee Meadows, Vermillion Cliffs, Sage Valley, Whiting, and Redhill. 

To accommodate all the oral presentations, two classrooms in the Emma Eccles Jones Education Building will be used from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM: EDUC 202 and EDUC 215

Huntsman Cancer Institute Special Sessions: The Huntsman Cancer Institution Sessions will be held in the Charles Hunter room during Session C and D. 

Parking: Free parking is available in Lot 1  and Lot 2. 

UCUR 2025 Keynote Speaker

John TaylorJohn R. Taylor is a Professor of Biology at Southern Utah University with a 23-year career dedicated to education, research, and public service. He has served as the Provost Faculty Fellow for Academic Affairs, overseeing the general education program, and as Assistant Dean for Integrative Education.

Dr. Taylor’s research primarily focuses on bats and ecology, with fieldwork spanning forests, national parks, and public lands throughout the southwestern United States. Passionate about science education, he has been deeply involved in statewide initiatives, serving on the board of the Utah Science Teaching Association, including a term as its President. In 2024, he was elected to the School Board of the Iron County School District.

Beyond academia, Dr. Taylor has been a strong advocate for public lands and national parks, particularly Zion National Park. He served for 14 years with the Zion Forever Project, holding roles as board member, Chair, and Director of Education and Visitor Services. Now, he focuses on inspiring the next generation to explore the outdoors as the Director of Educational Adventures for Get Outside Utah.
