Intensive English Program (IEP) and Foundations Program Placement

Students are placed in IEP or Foundation classes in one of two ways.

  1. Students give an official TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo Test of English (DET), or iTEP Academic score report to SUU. Only official score reports are accepted.
  2. Students take an English placement test when they arrive at SUU. The test is free for new students who do not have an official TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo Test of English (DET), or iTEP Academic score report.

The table below lists the test scores for the Foundation program levels.
