T-4 weeks till spring break T-Birds! It's time to start making plans to relax with no classes and homework, or maybe plan an adventure. And the great thing about living in Southern Utah is there are countless thrilling things to do. So, even if you haven't made plans, we’ve got you covered with the top 5 last-minute spring break ideas in Southern Utah.
Take a Trip to Moab
Moab, Utah is well known for its river rafting, hiking, and beautiful views, but did you know you could plan a whole weekend in Moab and never get bored? Only about 4.5 hours from Cedar City, Moab is the perfect place to take a trip with your friends or family this spring break. Roadtrip to Grand Canyon
With five national parks located in the Southern Utah area, you are close to plenty of adventure spots. Take advantage of that and road trip to one or a few. Hop in the car and in a few hours you’ll be in an exciting new place. While there are parks under an hour’s drive, the Grand Canyon is only 4.5 hours from Cedar City, not ideal for a weekend when you have homework but, perfect for a weekend getaway for spring break. Located at the Tuacahn Amphitheater just outside of St. George, the Saturday Market is a great way to surround yourself in culture. With fine arts from local artists, local vendors, live entertainment, and food around every corner the Tuacahn Saturday Market is the perfect way to spend a Saturday. Take a Day Trip to Sand Hollow State Park
It wouldn't be spring break without a little bathing suit action. Thankfully Sand Hollow State Park is only an hour drive from Cedar City, perfect for a day trip. Pack a cooler with some lunch and cold drinks to spend the day in the sun. Don’t forget the sunblock though!

Looking for a foolproof way to wind down from an eventful spring break? Take a sunset hike. While the Utah weather is sometimes unpredictable we can be hopeful that come mid-March it will be warm enough to spend an evening outside. With the days getting longer as we approach summer, a nice evening hike with a breathtaking sunset will be sure to ease your mind before you have to go back to class.
