Partnerships & Outreach

SUU’s Theatre program has relationships with prestigious members in the national theatre community. Student-faculty groups travel to regional and national auditions, the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, and the BFA Showcase in New York. SUU’s Theatre Arts program is enriched by invaluable interaction with the Tony-award-winning Utah Shakespeare Festival, the resident professional company on campus.

Create and Perform with SUU's Theatre Program

Together, students and faculty create multiple mainstage productions each academic year; plus four productions produced by Second Studio, our student theatre company; as well as black box grant productions. Students of merit also have the opportunity to produce a performance on their own.

Nationally Accredited Theatre Education

Our faculty members are dedicated to exceptional teaching. We have received the University’s awards for Outstanding Educators, and for our welcoming and respectful teaching approach. The department holds the specialized accreditation of the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) which guarantees that curriculum meets national standards.
