Welcome to the College of Performing and Visual Arts (CPVA) at Southern Utah University (SUU). I am thrilled to invite you into our vibrant community where creativity thrives and student success is our top priority. Our college encompasses the departments of Filmmaking, Art, & Design; Music; and Theatre, Dance, & Arts Administration. We are dedicated to helping you realize your creative potential and preparing you for rewarding careers in the Arts and beyond.
Our passionate and professional faculty provide transformative, real-world experiences through experiential learning and dynamic leadership opportunities. Our collaborative outreach, including The Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA), the Ballroom Dance Company, Shakespeare Studies at SUU, and our partnership with the Utah Shakespeare Festival (USF) positions us as a cultural beacon for the university. With hundreds of performances, exhibitions, and events each year, the Arts at SUU are central to the cultural foundation of our campus and community, enriching your education and inspiring change.
