Engineering Technology, CAD-Architectural/Civil Design 

Southern Utah University is one of a very few universities that offer an ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology with an emphasis in Architectural/Civil Design. You will become proficient in vital architectural engineering and civil design skills such as mechanical design, architectural design, civil design, layout and design, 3D solid modeling, parametrics, kinematics’ analysis, finite element analysis, animation analysis, rendering, rapid prototype, and other skills.

Instructors meet regularly with industry leaders to fine tune courses to ensure they provide the skill sets needed for our students to become top- earning professionals in the field. Instructors work closely with each student, making sure that all concepts and skills are mastered and that each graduate is ready to confidently provide architectural design in a busy architectural firm.

Available Resources

Our students have access to two state-of-the-art labs, equipped with Auto CAD, Inventor, Solid Works, CATIA, V5, Revit software, and more.

Additionally, the Technology Department has a rapid proto typing machine (3D printer) and state-of-the-art CAM lab with several CNC lathes and vertical mills. A new addition is a metal fabrication lab for the construction of student design projects.
