Grad Path
Earn Graduate Credit as an Undergraduate
Grad Path is designed for dedicated SUU students with 90+ credit hours. This program allows students to advance their graduate level learning by earning up to 12 graduate credits (program dependent) while simultaneously completing their undergraduate degree. Grad Path is ideal for those who are looking ahead toward a graduate degree.
Grad Path tuition is assessed at undergraduate tuition rates. By taking SUU graduate courses, the credits earned may apply toward the identified graduate program(s) only. Credits will not count toward an undergraduate degree . The respective graduate program advisor must preemptively approve all such enrollment. Each course may only be attempted once.
Grad Path Requirements
- Students must complete the Grad Path application and be approved through the Graduate Admission Office before the Graduate Program Advisor can register the student for graduate courses.
- Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and 90 credits earned, or in progress, to qualify the Grad Path program. GPA and credits will be verified at the beginning of each semester.
- Students may enroll in combined maximum of 18 graduate and undergraduate credits per semester.
- A maximum of 6 graduate credits is allowed per semester.
- Courses taken as part of one graduate program may not be accepted within another graduate program.

- Those who pass Grad Path courses with a 3.0 or better will automatically be admitted into the associated graduate program
- Graduate program admission for those who do not pass Grad Path with a 3.0 will be based on the graduate program’s admission criteria.

Because your success is of paramount importance to us, we want to be sure that you understand the expectations for graduate school as you begin this journey. Graduate classes are more rigorous than what you may have experienced as an undergrad; there will be much more reading, writing, and yes, even research. Please see SUU's online catalog for the passing grade requirement for your program.
We view our graduate students as participants in producing knowledge, not merely consumers of information. Graduate students are expected to engage fully in class discussions, attend classes, and/or actively contribute to online forums. We also expect our graduate students to be resourceful, self-motivated, and deadline-oriented.
If you are an undergraduate student and taking graduate courses. The graduate courses cannot, by Federal Financial Aid Regulations, count towards your undergraduate Federal Financial Aid Eligibility. This means your Federal Financial Aid may be reduced.
For a review of your situation, visit the Financial Aid office or call (435) 586-7735.
This program is a one-shot opportunity, so take your studies seriously and make your graduate coursework a top priority.
