Food Resources

SUU HOPE Pantry | Helping Our People Eat
Located inside the SUU Community Engagement Center (across the street from the Music Bldg., same street as campus housing). Open for current SUU and STECH students 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday for once per week use. Easy to use! Enter your t-number, select the food and toiletry items you need.

Iron County Care and Share
Monthly food boxes, weekly pantry pick-ups. Appointments are required, please make one online by visiting the Care and Share website or by calling 435-586-4962.

SNAP Benefits
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) provides qualifying students food spending money loaded onto a debit-type card that you can use to purchase grocery items at stores.

Due to temporary program adjustments, you qualify for SNAP benefits if:

  • You have an SUU work study job OR
  • The expected family contribution (EFC) based on your FAFSA application is 0

You may also qualify based on your application, if you reside in Utah and can provide an in-state driver’s license, rental agreement, or utility bill. Apply for benefits online at the State Jobs Website.

The True Life Center Pantry
Individuals and families can pick up a food bag filled with necessities each Wednesday between 2 and 6 pm, 2111 N Main St, Cedar City. No qualifications or requirements.

Financial Resources

SUU Financial Aid and Scholarship Office

Did you know 84 percent of SUU students qualify for some type of aid? Access applications for a variety of grants and scholarships, as well as tools to calculate SUU costs. Visit the Financial Aid website to make an appointment with a financial aid counselor.

SUU Financial Wellness Office

Located in the Sharwan Smith Center, 201C. Support options include assistance applying for FAFSA, scholarships, jobs, budgeting workshops, and individual appointments. Contact them at financialwellness@suu.edu and see resources on the Financial Wellness website.

Rent Resources

Qualified individuals and households may be eligible for assistance including current rent, three months of prospective rent, past-due rent, some fees, security deposit, utilities, and internet service. Struggling renters can file their applications at the Utah Rent Relief Website.
