Welcome to the Department of Communication
The Department of Communication at Southern Utah University is part of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Students traditionally rank high in regional and national competitions for journalism and broadcasting. A hands-on approach and excellent student-teacher ratio benefits students in terms of instruction and experience providing an education not available at other institutions.

When Parker Walbeck transferred to SUU he knew what his dream career would look like, just was unsure how to get there. During his time at SUU he was given countless opportunities to explore videography and is now a filmmaker, running his own business, all because of the experience given at SUU.
