Utah State Legislature Compliance
Every year, new laws adopted during the General Legislative Session impact people, programs, and policies on Southern Utah University’s campus.
SUU, as well as all higher education institutions across the state, were given the task of interpreting these bills through their own unique lenses. The bills apply to all employees, including student employees, with the exception of:
- Academic freedom, as outlined in SUU Policy 6.6
- Athletics, in compliance with the NCAA
- Compliance with federal or state laws
- Accreditation compliance
- Academic research
- Privately funded scholarships
