Physical Changes

Read for Fun - collection of recreational reads at the SUU Library for ages 18-25

The library has a new collection of books called "Recreational Reads" for those that want to read just for fun. It is designed for students ages 18-25 and consists mostly of fiction. There is also a growing collection of graphic novels as well as some nonfiction. More books are on order, so check back often to see what's new.

GoPro Kit available for checkout from the SUU Library

The library currently has GoPro kits available for semesterly checkout. We have GoPro Hero8 cameras that are equipped with a touch screen and voice control and are able to capture 4K video. The kits also include various mounts that will suit any filming need you may have. In addition, the kits come with a MicroSD card and a reader so you can view your footage at any time, anywhere. All you need to do is fill out our Cares-Act Form, available online or in the library, to get yours today!

Ask a Librarian Desk at the SUU library

Have a question? Ask a Librarian!

We can be found on the first floor at the newly re-envisioned "Ask a Librarian" help desk, located front and center as you enter the library. Can't think of anything to ask a librarian? Have you considered the path to librarianship? As librarians, our backgrounds are as diverse as the fields of study themselves, and we love to talk about our craft; try asking your Librarian for the story of how they found themself in the library.

National Geographic Trails Illustrated Hiking Maps

These maps show trail systems that are hiking only, with additional jeep and mountain biking trails including rating, mileage, difficulty, and location. These maps are in the G call number section for Recreation and are in bins organized by state. These maps are printed on waterproof, tear-resistant paper so they are durable and meant to bring along with you while you are out enjoying the trails.

Website Changes

Analytics data showed the majority of visitors to the library website immediately started their visit by typing in the giant search box. The reality is that search box only accessed a portion of the many resources available through the library. By restructuring the page, more resources are readily available. One month of data shows that more people are already accessing those particular databases or internal resources than were previously accessed. We will continue to use the data available and constructive feedback to refine the site as necessary.
