Library Maps

The Gerald R. Sherratt Library is located on the south side of the SUU campus in front of the Business Quad. Permit and metered parking is available just west of the library. The central location of the library on the SUU campus makes it easy for student and faculty to access.

Floor Maps

 Fountain level map

1 - Fountain/Garden Study Area: Students can study individually or in groups in this beautiful quiet study area. The Garden of Symbols is also located in this area. 

2 - Special Collections: The home for out-of-print, rare, and expensive materials that need particular handling. The primary areas of focus in the collection are Paiute Indians, Utah authors, Shakespeare materials, music, Southern Utah history, and maps.

3 - Library Room 002: This classroom is the meeting place for INFO 1010 and other library courses. 

 Main level map

1 - Questions Desk: Reference Librarians can assist anyone with questions. We're also happy to help answer questions online, too!

2 - Reference Collection: Contains encyclopedias, dictionaries, and almanacs to help you with your library research.

3 - Computer Lab: Over 100 computers available for student use. Public computers are also available.

4 - The Soda Nerd: Purchase beverages, snacks, and meals to eat in the library..

5 - Journals Collection: Contains magazines, newspapers, journals, and newsletters.

6 - Media Collection: Contains computer programs, video tapes, recordings, pictures, charts, maps, kits, transparencies, posters, books on tape, classical music CDs, and models.

7- Copy Shop: Students may purchase materials, get things printed, print off posters, and so much more to help prepare for classes and presentations. 

8 - Interlibrary Loan: Assistance in receiving and returning materials from other libraries.

9 - Check out Desk and Lost & Found: Check out and return books, laptops, calculators, study rooms, lockers, headphones, and other materials, as well as pay fines on overdue items. Lost & Found items from all over campus are brought here.

Group Study Rooms: Group study rooms are provided for students to study together without interrupting other students in the library. Each study room is equipped with a large flat-screen T.V. or a pull-down screen and a projector, a computer, a white board, a clock, a table, and chairs. Group study rooms on the first floor can be reserved online.

 Second level map

1 - Jon and Karen Huntsman Reading Room: Quiet study area available for students to study individually or in groups. Beautiful views of campus and beyond.

2 - Main Collection: Contains over 260,000 volumes, arranged using the Library of Congress Classification System where books on one subject are shelved together. Call numbers for books can be found by searching the SUU Library Online Catalog.

Group Study Rooms: Group study rooms are provided for students to study together without interrupting other students in the library. Each study room is equipped with a large flat-screen T.V. or a pull-down screen and a projector, a computer, a white board, a clock, a table, and chairs. Group study rooms for three or more on the first and second floor can be reserved online and third floor study rooms are available on a first come basis at the Check Out Desk. Second floor glass rooms do not need to be checked out and are on a first come basis for one to two students only. They have no computers.

1 - Study Area: Students can study individually or in groups in this beautiful quiet study area.

2 - Curriculum Collection: Contains curriculum material appropriate for grades K-12.

3 - Juvenile Collection: Contains fiction and non-fiction books for students K-12. Cataloged using Dewey Decimal.

4 - Oversize Collection: Contains books that are physically too large to be shelved in the main collection. 

5 - Library Offices: Library administration, library faculty offices, the Resource Sharing offices are located on the south and west perimeters of this floor.

Accessibility and inclusion information

The Sherratt Library is wheelchair accessible, has elevators to all floors, and has accessible restrooms. The Sherratt Library also has an all-gender, single-stall restroom available on the second level.
