UDOT Begins Paving the SUU Loop Reconstruction Project

UDOT has begun paving the 'SUU Loop' reconstruction project this Thursday morning; weather permitting, paving will continue through Friday, July 19, and motorists should expect delays in traffic into and out of parking around campus.

Paving began this morning at the intersection of 200 South and 300 West heading North to Center Street. Once complete, crews will head East on Center Street to Main Street. After that area is completed they will start at the intersection of Center Street and 300 West and pave West to 1150 West.

UDOT will have a flagger/laborer at the parking lot entrances to control traffic as they work on the adjacent roadway. There could be up to a 15 minute delay for motorists exiting or entering the parking lots as they pave and roll the hot asphalt.

Given the many variables when paving, UDOT does not know exactly where they will end for the day, though they anticipate finishing the 'loop' Friday by paving 1150 West and 200 South to 300 West. Please be aware that any rain would interrupt their progress.
