Art Insights Spotlights Vida Sacic

Chicago-based visual artist, Vida Sacic, focuses her expertise on letterpress printing and the intersection of graphic design and fine arts practices. She brings a beauty to the process of print making and converges those two worlds. Sacic will present at Southern Utah University’s Auditorium Theatre on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 7 p.m. The general public is invited to attend. Admission is free.
A young girl from Croatia, Vida Sacic, came to the United States as a high school exchange student. Following high school, she studied at Marian College in Indianapolis, Indiana to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. Following her graduation, Sacic worked in the field of advertising and later worked as an Art Director at a multinational advertising and public relations company called Publicis International. She returned to the academic world as an Associate Instructor and earned a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Indiana University Bloomington. Sacic is currently working in Chicago as an Assistant Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Northeastern Illinois University.
Sacic’s work has been published in textbooks For the Love of Letterpress: A Printing Handbook for Instructors and Students as well as in Fingerprint No. 2: The Evolution of Handmade Elements in Graphic Design. Participating in exhibits all over the United States, Vida Sacic is a treasure to have on campus for the Art Insights presentation this week.
Art Insights is a weekly program hosted during the fall and spring semesters by SUU’s Art and Design faculty. Students and community members meet to experience presentations and discussions by visiting artists and art educators from around the nation who share their work and insights. Admission is free, and the general public is invited to attend.
