SUBJECT: Athletic Council [TEMPORARY]
I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Policy is to outline the primary advisory functions of the Athletic Council, which are (1) to advance intercollegiate athletics on campus, (2) to recommend athletic schedules of various athletic teams of the University, and (3) to review eligibility and compliance policies and financial aid appeals.
IV. POLICY
- The Athletic Council is an advisory committee to the Director of Athletics and to the President. The Athletic Council shall consist of 15 members:
- The Faculty Athletic Representative (Chair);
- The Vice President for Finance and Administration;
- The Vice President for Student Affairs;
- The Director of Athletics;
- The Associate Director of Athletics;
- The President of the Thunderbird Athletic Club;
- The President of the Southern Utah University Student Association;
- The Activities Vice President of the Southern Utah University Student Association;
- Two (2) members of the classified/professional staff, appointed by the President of the University; and
- One (1) member of the faculty with academic rank, from each College/School, selected by the Provost.
VI. QUESTIONS/RESPONSIBLE OFFICE
The responsible office for this Policy is the Vice President for Finance. For questions about this Policy, contact the Director of Athletics.
