Voices of the Ancients Housing

Participants will need to secure their own lodging. Please be aware that the National Parks, the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and several other events bring many people to the area during the summer. Accommodations are booked quickly and are often pricey during this peak season. You will find many hotels, bed and breakfast, and Airbnb options in the Cedar City area.

SUU Residential Halls

SUU Housing is opening up some of their residence halls apartments for us during both workshop sessions. You can see the floor plans and photo gallery of each hall by clicking on the hyperlinks. To book a room at either residential hall, email summercoordinator@suu.edu. You have until 3 weeks prior to attending your session to contact the Summer housing office. You will not be billed for your stay until after the workshop.

Session I: Founders Hall Five double bedrooms, five bathrooms, a kitchen, and living room. All linens (towels and sheets) are provided. The cost is $30/night to share a room, $60/night to have your own room.

Session II: You have the option to book Founders Hall or the Eccles Hall.

Eccles Hall – Four double bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, and living room. All linens provided. The cost is $25/night to share a room or $50 to have your own room.

Other Housing Options

We have spoken with the Holiday Inn and can get a group rate of $129/night for either session, but we have to book a minimum of 10 rooms. If you are interested in this option, please let us know right away so that we can make the arrangements.

The workshop will provide a 20% off rate for workshop participants. However, for those attending the first session, we may need to move you to the dorm the last evening.

AirBnB is an excellent option as you can rent an entire house with 2-4 bedrooms for under $100. If some of you are willing to share, this is the most comfortable and cost-effective route.
