Justin Harding came to Southern Utah University with aspirations of becoming a business major, but realized political science was where he would thrive.
Through internships with SUU, Justin discovered his purpose in politics. After a three month internship in Washington D.C., Justin came back to Cedar City to graduate, where he then started his political career with a full time job under Utah Representative, Jim Hansen.
“After my internship, Representative Hansen’s offices contacted me and wanted me to return and fill a full-time position in his office,” explained Justin. “It was because of my internship that I received my first job—it’s what got me in.”
Now, after working on Capitol Hill for 14 years, Justin has returned to the Beehive State, as the Chief of Staff for Utah Governor Gary Herbert.
Justin graduated with a degree in Political Science. Learn more about the program.
