Armed with a bachelor’s degree in finance as well as a keen interest in the welfare of others, SUU grad Kaden Waters is today a financial advisor with Fidelity Investments in Lehi, Utah, among the biggest firms in the nation by assets under management.
Kaden shares his knowledge of financial planning and investing with the steadfast goal of helping his clients become financially stable and ready for retirement. After starting with Fidelity, he worked to earn his certified financial planner designation, and credits SUU Professor Steve Harrop with providing him the foundation to pass that exam on his first attempt.
As a student, Kaden knew he would study business, but he didn’t know what particular type of business degree he would shoot for. However, after taking his first finance class, he knew he had found his future career.
Kaden and his wife Amanda enjoyed their time at SUU and he says they have many fond memories.
“I really enjoyed playing racquetball with my friends at the courts in the PE Building. I also enjoyed supporting SUU athletics, and my wife and I loved attending Bread and Soup Night that was hosted in the Sharwan Smith Student Center. It was awesome that we didn't have to cook, as long as we brought some food to donate,” he says with a nostalgic smile.
Outside of work, Kaden enjoys playing tennis with his children competitive pickleball (which he learned to play at SUU), and a good board game.
