SUU High School Honor Choir Festival
January 10th & 11th, 2025
Hello Honor Choir Participants! Please use the links below to access the six pieces we will be singing, as well as to pay your registration fee. Audition materials are due Tuesday, November 26, 2024 before midnight. Auditions may be submitted as part of the registration as a file attachment or as a link to Youtube.
We invite all high school students and directors to participate in this year's exciting High School Honor Choir Festival, held on the beautiful campus of Southern Utah University.
Students will be selected by audition to rehearse and perform outstanding choral literature under the direction of Dr. Andrew Briggs, Director of Choral Activities at Southern Utah University.
Students selected for the SUU High School Honor Choir participate in two days of rehearsals and activities culminating in a concert at the end of the second day at the Thorley Recital Hall on SUU's campus in Cedar City, Utah.
Audition materials include a complete score for use during a full choir rehearsal to facilitate a collective effort in your preparation. Separate parts are available for each voice.
Directors are encouraged to print the audition materials from our website. Submission options include sending a link to a private YouTube channel (preferred) or sending recorded performances to andrewbriggs2@suu.edu in MP3 format. You may also send a CD recording of auditions to Cecilia Sands, Music Department, Southern Utah University, 351 West University Boulevard, Cedar City, Utah, 84720.
The registration fee is $30.00 per applicant upon acceptance.
Accommodations are not provided, however, there are many hotel options in close proximity to the rehearsal/performance hall. The final concert is scheduled for 3pm on January 11th, the the time is subject to change. (Concert dress is of your choosing - please wear whatever you traditionally perform in for similar performing experiences.)
