Matt Hamlin always had a passion for helping others and problem solving, but didn’t know how that would translate into a job. After graduating from high school, Matt served an LDS mission on the west coast hoping he’d discover his purpose there. But it wasn’t until he enrolled at SUU that he finally found who he wanted to be and what he wanted to do.
David Tufte, a professor of economics, gave Matt words of wisdom that inspired him.
“You won’t remember the little things like how to solve a certain equation, but you will remember the process of your degree; the hard things that it took to get through it,” Tufte told Matt.
Professors, like Tufte, took the time to get to know him and helped steer his natural people skills and leadership talents into a successful business career.
Now, Matt is the CEO of Tonaquint, a state of the art data center that protects Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and small businesses from data breaches.
“I’m a leader in the business of global connectivity thanks to the guidance I received from Southern Utah University,” said Matt.
Matt graduated with a degree in Business.
