State Authorization
State authorization is a crucial aspect of higher education, particularly for institutions offering online and distance education programs. It involves obtaining approval from state regulatory agencies to legally provide educational services to students residing in those states. This process ensures that the institution meets the educational standards and consumer protection requirements set forth by each state.
At Southern Utah University, we recognize the importance of state authorization in maintaining the quality and integrity of our educational offerings. It not only allows us to reach students across the country but also ensures that our programs are in compliance with various state laws and regulations.
SUU is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), which facilities our ability to offer distance education programs to students located outside of Utah. Being a member of NC-SARA allows us to offer our distance ed programs in a more streamlined manner, ensuring that students from participating states can access our courses without additional state-by-state barriers.
